Change your display’s brightness by clicking (or touching) the slider and dragging it. Click or tap and drag the Adjust brightness level slider to change the brightness level. Tap on “Expand” if you can’t see the slider. Open the Settings app from your Start menu or Start screen, select System, and select Display. It may be accessed by clicking or tapping the notification bubble icon, which is located just to the right of the calendar on the taskbar. In Windows 10, the Action Center has a fast brightness slider. This is especially useful if your keyboard lacks certain keys, or when you’re using a laptop and go through it within apps. Adjustable brightness and contrast levels Control the brightness and contrast of your display with a range of adjustable settings. ![]() ![]() Your display brightness may be adjusted inside Windows. If your computer is an older model and does not have brightness controls on the keyboard, you can still adjust the brightness of your screen using the Windows Control Panel. Simply hit the function button on the keyboard with the function key that corresponds to it. This key is generally placed between the Ctrl, Alt, and Windows/Start Menu keys, and it’s usually positioned just below the space bar. Look for the key labeled “fn” once you’ve identified the keys used to control the brightness. ![]()
